With just about 78 people in the community of Twin Hills, including 14 school age children, Twin Hills School is among the smallest of the 9 schools that make up Southwest Region School District. Located on the banks of the Twin Hills River, a tributary of the Togiak River, Twin Hills is a traditional Yup’ik community that relies heavily on subsistence hunting and fishing for its existence. There is a post office and a laundromat, but groceries are ordered and flown in. The nearby village of Togiak has two grocery stores, and can be accessed in the winter months by snowmobile.
