This year, the kids made their own gingerbread houses from scratch.  First, they had to make a pattern and copy it on cardboard.  Next, they made the cardboard house.  Then they made the gingerbread and when it was done, they used their patterns to cut out their pieces and they baked them.  They used frosting made out of scratch to hold the pieces together on the cardboard house.  When they dried, they got to decorate them and bring them home for a Christmas decoration.
