Here are pictures taken during the
Wellness Conference that took place here on September 25-27. Despite
the weather, it was very well attended. Some of the villages that
planned to attend could not make it, but all of the keynote speakers were
able to make it. Subjects that were discussed were the grieving process,
nature of dependency, domestic abuse and alcoholism/drug/inhalant abuse.
A follow-up discussion forum to discuss further activities are being planned.
Afterwards, the Rose Ceremony, led by Elizabeth Sunnyboy, had 100% participation
and was very touching. At the end, everyone enjoyed the Eskimo Dancing
by our students that were taught by two people from the Goodnews Bay dance
group.
